The Trainer ToolBox
ISA’s trainer ToolBox is home to a comprehensive suite of digital professional development (PD) resources designed for Trainers and Assessors working in the Transport supply chain (TSC) VET sector.
VET Workforce Project
Led by the 10 Jobs and Skills Councils (JSCs) – of which ISA is one, representing the Transport supply chain (TSC) industries (Aviation, Rail, Maritime and Transport & Logistics) – the VET Workforce Project is a Commonwealth-funded initiative tasked with building and supporting a secure and sustainable VET workforce. As part of the project, ISA surveyed representatives of the TSC VET workforce, seeking to better understand roles and needs, examine VET workforce pathways and pipelines, and identify future and emerging issues.
ISA sought to discover the barriers, burdens, limits and opportunities impacting Trainers and Assessors and their professional growth. The TSC VET Workforce said that current PD methodologies were often complex, somewhat onerous and lacking flexibility, placing increasing time and cost pressures on VET practitioners and training providers to maintain currency and compliance to regulatory standards. The Trainer Toolbox is a direct response to this and is one of several initiatives ISA has developed as part of the VET Workforce Project.
